The City of Cannon Falls has several parks with a variety of offerings from sports facilities, river access, and trails as well as smaller neighborhood parks with a variety of playground equipment and amenities. Parks can be reserved by calling City Hall at 507-263-4626.

Cannon Valley Trail occupies the route of a former Chicago Great Western railroad line that connected Red Wing and Mankato, MN. The line started as the Minnesota Central and in 1882 construction began easterly from Waterville. It was completed to Red Wing in just over six months with regular service beginning January 1, 1883.

Lake Byllesby
Lake Byllesby Park is a County park and has two access points. One is on the Goodhue County side located off of County Highway 19 west of Cannon Falls which is equipped with a boat launch, dock, beach, swimming area, picnic pavilion, walking path, playground equipment, Lake Byllesby Dam and porta-potties.
Currently, the Goodhue County side is under construction as it is adding a new pavilion and other essential services to the park. You can find construction updates here.
The other access point is on the Dakota County side of the lake which can be accessed off of County Road 88/295th St. E. This area is where you can find the Dakota County Lake Byllesby Campground, splash pad, playground, Regional Park Trailhead, swimming area, beach and another boat launch.
